About the event

Join us for a fascinating conversation with the Honorable Judge Robert L. Wilkins. Judge Wilkins is on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals and is also the author of Long Road to Hard Truth: the 100 Year Mission to Create the National Museum of African American History and Culture. We will learn about the barriers that attempted to prevent this extraordinary institution from being created and opened in September 2016, just prior to the end of the Obama Administration. Judge Wilkins may also share some of his current research into his own family history during the time of slavery in the South—and the incredible court case his great, great, great, great-grandma brought to ultimately secure her own freedom. Families are welcome!

This event is open to Global Moment IVLP participants and their families.
