A Bit About Me

Jacques Nelles is a South African Photojournalist based in Pretoria, South Africa's capital city. He is driven by the importance of his job and its ability to shape how society views an event. Most of his longer term work looks at societal issues in the communities around him and aims to bring unknown or not well documented crises to the forefront of the public's view. His coverage as a Photojournalist spans from elections, natural disasters, unrest in society, and untold stories of the human condition in South Africa. His work has predominantly been published in The Citizen newspaper. He also freelances for international agencies such as the Associated Press and the European Press Agency.
